What makes people to buy HTC One instead of other smartphones? The Zoe Share and video highlights functions should be the reasons. ZDNET editor Matthew Miller said that HTC is trying to change the discussion on cameras from megapixels to the full experience. They offer a new ultra-pixel camera design with some slick software innovations that set the HTC One apart from everyone.
On the other hand, one of the cool camera features of the Nokia Lumia 920 is optical image stabilization, and we now see the HTC One includes this technology. In addition, the test from ZDNET editor Matthew Miller shows the HTC One does well with OIS too. The optical image stabilization (OIS) in the Nokia Lumia 920 is a major reason people purchased the device. Now, the new HTC One has OIS either, so last weekend editor Matthew Miller tested both devices recording the same basketball game that his was playing in.
It's fun to look at the HTC Droid DNA test results, shown in Matthew Miller’s earlier video test, and compare that video to the HTC One as well since you will see how much further advanced the camera is on the HTC One. The HTC One isn't perfect, but it seemed to do a better job at providing more realistic color and clarity than the Lumia 920. Matthew and his oldest daughter were each holding a device, so there are some differences in the person holding it. On top of just recording the video, it was very easy to capture still images while recording on the HTC One, and Matthew was able to make some cool highlight videos after the game as well.
According to Matthew Miller’s test, the Nokia Lumia 920 is a fine device with a great camera, but the HTC One does a fair job as well and can compete with the Lumia 920 for video.
